"A Playlist for every book"

Ahead of our live chat with Rebecca Zanetti, on May 23 2023, we asked her a few questions about herself and her writing.

BingeBooks: Where and when do you like to write?

Rebecca Zanetti: I like to write in my office, which has a great view of the lake. Although, I write on airplanes quite a bit as well.

BB: Is there anything - furnishings, art, equipment, etc - you always like to have around you when you write?

RZ: I like to have hot tea with me when I write, and I also like to have the fireplace on somewhere in the background as well as music playing. I have a playlist for every book.

BB: Who are your influences?

RZ: I read everyone from commercial fiction authors, court opinions, nonfiction historical books, and great speeches. I also binge shows and figure out why I either like or don't like the writing.

BB: What are you reading right now?

RZ: I'm re-reading Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series.

BB: What book would you recommend for a great vacation read?

RZ: Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley.

BB: Have any of your characters ever surprised you? How?

RZ: Yes - they surprise me all the time. I often don't know who the true villain in a story is until I'm about half way in. I won't give spoilers here. :)

BB: Cat or Dog?

RZ: Both

BB: Tea or Coffee?

RZ: Tea

BB: Tell us in one sentence why readers love YOU CAN RUN

RZ: I think Laurel Snow, who is brilliant and awkward, is both endearing and a force to consider if you're a villain in a story.

BB: Tell us in one sentence why you love writing - in general, and in your specific genre.

RZ: I get to create entire worlds and then be surprised by them. It's great fun every day.
