Russell Klyford Follow

Russell Klyford is a pen name. The actual person behind Russell Klyford is based in Canberra, Australia and is a veteran governance expert, humanist, egalitarian and avid sci-fi reader. EMERGENT MARS is his first novel and due to the overwhelming positive response he has received for it, is busy working on a follow-up book.

He began writing EMERGENT MARS as a thought experiment: what would a viable human governance model that overcame, or at least mollified, the worst attributes of traditional forms of government look like? What emerged (pun intended), is a reflection on the ethics of colonization, a deep-dive into the trials of people threatened with annexation, a questioning of our impact on pristine off-world environments, a dialogue on the nature of consciousness, and a glimpse into the struggles of a fledgling society trying to define its future on a harsh planet of profound beauty—and dire peril.
