My Favorite Boss
(My Favorite Series - Book 2)
By Melanie Moreland
Author Melanie Moreland’s My Favorite Boss is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read! This authors use of humor shines through each and every page.
From Magnolia’s interview with the dreaded Alexander Bane to the big discussion Magnolia had with Bane’s mother, you will find tongue in cheek, tongue on tongue, tongue’s tangling and some of that good ‘ole kneeslapping humour everyone needs now and again.
Alexander Bane, he has his ways of doing things and he is always right, mind you he is the only one who agrees with himself. So when Magnolia Myers flew out of the elevator and fell down he had no choice but to catch her. He was organized she was a mess…he had rules…so did she and they didn’t always agree whose rules were better. But there was something about her, something that made him smile. He could be handled, she was ready to take this bull of a man on.
Magnolia was just what Bane needed, not just at work though..he needed her. He didn’t know it yet, but he needed her. She was the one who opened his eyes to so many things. She needed him, she needed his strength and he always had her back. For all the comedy there will tears. Tears for the first man in Magnolia’s life…her father. Bane had her back when it came to her dad as well.
Their chemistry was so hot I couldn’t understand why the paper in the storage room didn’t burn! Oh bring on the fans or turn on the A/C because “it’s getting hot in here”
There will be snort laughs, there will be tears of laughter and there will be a ball of feline shenanigans who you will fall in love with at first mention.
My Favorite Boss is on my top ten reads for 2024, five star all the way and that’s just ‘’FINE”

Full Throttle (Reynold’s Restorations #5) By Melanie Moreland
OH MY DOM!
Seriously….Dominic Salvatore! He just tiptoed by Richard VanRyan in my heart. I’m sorry Richard…I’m a Dom girl now!
When Dom was introduced to Cherry Gallagher…he was smitten, no he knew she was his, now all he has to do is convince Cherry he was right.
And ohhh boy…does he have to work at convincing her! These two are like flames when they are together…there were parts where I was fanning myself…oh the heat, the steam, the dirty talking….hold on I’m fanning myself again.
As much as Cherry feels she has baggage, when she finally convinces Dom to share what was making him so sad, I lost it! Yes, I cried…I had no idea that these two were going to make me cry…but Melanie Moreland and Dom knew where to hit my feels and boy did it bring back memories for me.
So, when Dom needed some outside help, Cherry came to his rescue yet a second time. Not only did she rescue you from his loneliness, she helped him get the help and support for the problem he needed to solve once and for all. She brought him the exact right person who promised he could help Dom.
I laughed, I cried, I shouted…”I knew that was who could help” and then I cheered for everyone who got involved. The folks at Reynold’s Restoration proved just how much a found family can make you feel like the luckiest person in the world.
The best part though, this isn’t the end, but a see you again soon; as they are always there when you need them, just like these books are always there when we need that visit to Littleburn, to have pie with Charly and Maxx and see how the children are growing and spend more time with the entire Reynolds Restoration Family.

My Favorite Kidnapper
By Melanie Moreland
My Favorite Kidnapper kept me laughing from the first stolen cupcake to the last cake baked. I snort laughed and had tears running down my cheeks.
Brianna and Dante are not like any other couple I’ve ever met, from pushing buttons to telling people he kidnapped her, Author Melanie Moreland gives us a story of how the right couple can bake, eat cake and fall in love!
Brianna is a baker, she wants to own a bakery; she’s tired of being taken advantage of at her current job. Brianna baked the most amazing cake for her friends wedding, oh it was beautiful, everything was perfect~until it wasn’t. There were cupcakes missing, several…but who ate them? Well, she found out who had removed them and then she gave them a piece of her mind…and threatened to arrest him….
Dante Frost, uncle of the bride, trusted Art Dealer and the man with the biggest sweet tooth was about to get a piece of Brianna’s mind. He actually got a lot more than a piece of her mind…but that’s for you to find out!
Do they argue? Sure in a way that works for them. Does she like him? Well, cupcakes, icing etc, missing on the big night…maybe not a the beginning. Can you tell me about the kidnapping? I could but really you need to find this out for yourself. Who is Roomba? Honestly, some of the best comedy scenes include Roomba…tear will fall, down your cheeks because Brianna, Dante and Roomba have this story to share with you and you really have to read for the full effect.
From the titters, giggles and guffaws; My Favorite Kidnapper gives readers a romantic comedy that you can’t put down! Author Moreland’s ability to write some of the best comedy I’ve read is the icing (on the cake)! This one has “risen” to the top of my 2023 reads!

Under the Radar
(Reynolds Restorations Book 4)
By Melanie Moreland
I’ve kept my eye on him since book 1. I thought it took a lot of courage for him to make his amends in book 2. I smiled when I saw how he had grown and taken on a lot of responsibility in book 3 and today, in Book 4 I fell a lot in love with Chase Donner.
To watch him grow through this series has given me that feeling of a mom so proud of her son…Chase Donner has done one heck of a job growing up and now he just might be growing again..this time though, it’s more like falling….in love.
So handsome, so polite and so drunk…not the right way you want to meet a police officer. Especially since she was so pretty, had hair you could spot a mile away and it looked like some fairy blew cinnamon dust on her and that made her just perfect for him. He was polite, he even gave her a special name that night, Occifer Cinnamon! Luckily Officer Hannah Gallagher thought it was kind of endearing.
So when she showed up to apply to be Chase’s roommate….had the stars aligned? Was he granted a wish? Would she really want to room with him?
I’m not telling! You need to read this book to enjoy this read!
Author Melanie Moreland has given her readers a beautiful summer love story and I for one will always be on the sidelines cheering these two on.
Both Chase and Hannah have had to overcome some very negative things in their lives. Chase is working hard to make amends and Hannah was hoping her past was left behind in the big city….both of them could use a friend, ok more than a friend.
Secret crushes are exposed, laughter is abound, old friends still make us laugh and there is always going to be that bad apple who wants to spoil everything.
I laughed (a lot), I really wanted to bitchslap one character and I had a huge smile on my face at the end of Under the Radar.

Unscripted with Mila: A celebrity
friends-to-lovers romance (Vested Interest:
ABC Corp Book 6)
By Melanie Moreland
I’m not sure where to start…Mila (Amelia Morrison) would fade into the background in a busy place. She’s an introvert and she writes romance novels. She also fought very hard when her novel was being turned into a movie. She fought for the man she wanted to play the lead role, she fought for the man who was her muse, she fought for the man who was meant for her, she fought for Nicholas Scott.
Nick Scott loved acting, it gave him a chance to be someone else. Acting allowed him to hide who he was. What Nick Scott didn’t know was that there was someone out there who had seen inside him, had seen how he hid things, she’s seen him from the inside out. She’d heard the rumours and she was willing to give him a chance, because when the universe deemed them to meet, they were going to be perfect together.
In this last book in the Vested Interest/ABC series, Author Melanie Moreland gave her readers two people who had been fated to be together. To be there for each other, to love each other and to hold each other up when needed. Two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly.
She also opened our eyes to how Mental Illness is a problem that is often swept to the background; that people don’t want to talk or acknowledge it but Nick is more than willing to share with Mila and her family his diagnosis of Bipolar II.
From night swims, to cups of coffee and dates Nick and Mila work through not just a traitor that is in their midst but both of them learning what they need to do to support and be present for each other. If that isn’t true love, I don’t know what is.
Remember this dear readers, we aren’t saying good bye to the characters who have become family, we are just saying see you soon, we all know that their books will come off the shelf and be sitting in our hands time and time again when we are welcomed back to the stories that we love.
