Beth has some new ideas about who actually has some new ideas about what might have happened the night three years ago when the young girl went missing and it ties with other missing girls in the surrounding townships. No one wants to listen to her, especially John, but after some events happen that point to her being on the right track, John finally starts looking at the case differently. What follows shows what happens when a few corrupt cops only care about themselves and not the citizens they are to protect and how the the ones who do care are good at weeding out the bad.

Along the way this book adds lots of real history from centuries ago as well as some very interesting not true elements that add very well to the over all book.

But they find it is not so easy since they cannot call the police and when it is all over, they find that there were lots more families being mentally tortured and extorted. And they also learn that the reason the blackmailers had the information for the blackmail was due to all the on line posting the parents themselves did about their children.

Since the island is owned by the leaders wife, it is her refuge after their young son was killed. For the people employed on the island it is a prison they will never be able to leave. When an ice storm appears, it throws a lot of secret plans into disarray. Then the woman of the house is discovered missing. During the search for her, one of the young employees if found dead on one of the paths. Still that is not all that descends on the occupants. There is still more deaths, lying and treachery, as well as not anyone is who they appear to be. Will anyone escape alive...what made this a more interesting read is that it is based on true events and facts.

Everyone is excited about the renovation and re-opening of the Lodge on the outskirts of Holiday Junction. So the CIA director wants Teddy to use the European film tour as a cover to find out who is doing the killings and stop them. It will mean leaking information that Teddy is alive and being the bait. Hopefully it will work...
