It’s time for Friendsgiving and the Thanksgiving Festival in Holiday Junction. I enjoy catching up with Violet. She’s changed so much from her time in Normal, KY. The mystery kept me guessing and I had several people I was sure were guilty but I was wrong. Can’t wait for the next book to see how Violet, Darren, Mama, and the others are doing.

Kenni has her hands full with a murder, an upcoming election and trying to deal with a choice between Finn and her beloved Poppa.
It’s been a while so it was nice to catch up with Kenni and the residents of Cottonwood, well, most of them. There were a lot of suspects in the murder. I guessed the key clue in the mystery, but not who it pointed to. The ending was a shock! I hope we get the next book soon to see what happens with the election.

It’s time for the 4th of July celebrations in Holiday Junction. When a local citizen is murdered, can Violet solve the mystery before the end of the festivities?
There are changes that allowed Violet to spend time on her reporting and investigating the murder. I enjoy the community feel in this book and how Millie Kay is there to step in when needed. And I like how she tells it like it is to Violet. It was an interesting murder with plenty of people pointing out potential suspects but people aren’t willing to share their secrets. I can’t wait to see where the Merry Maker sets up the next celebration.

It’s time for the Hip Hop Hurray Easter Festival, and there is a dead body. Violet is interested not just because she is a journalist, but because of the relationship with the suspect. Is a bake-off reason to kill?
I miss Violet in Normal, but she has really come into her own in Holiday Junction. Her character has developed so much from her unplanned arrival in town. But she still has a very high opinion of her journalistic skills. The mysteries are always interesting in the series, but my favorite reason for reading is to catch up with Violet, and her friends and family.

Mae’s is, busy with her National Park Committee responsibilities, helping her friend Betts with good deeds on her list, her soon-to-be sister-in-law, and her upcoming wedding. Dottie has a surprise that gets the town talking
It was another fun visit to Normal, KY. There was a lot of humor particularly with Ellis. The mysteries are always interesting but my favorite part is the friendship of the Laundry Club Ladies. In this book, they are all at different places in their romantic lives, but are all there to support each other. I figured out the how to the murder early on, but the who kept me guessing. I also appreciated the reference to Mae going to see Violet, who left Normal and moved to Holiday Junction.

It’s the Thanksgiving in Normal, KY. Mae has a wedding coming up (sometime) and has taken up running to keep in shape. And then there is a murder and some of the suspects are friends…
I enjoy the mysteries and this is a good one, but the best part is getting back to see what is happening with the folks in Normal. They are there for each other in the good, the bad, the happy, and the sad. I can’t wait to see how much more complicated Mae’s life will be as wedding plans are made

It’s the Bourbon Festival in Normal, KY. Mae West accepted Hank’s proposal and now all anyone can ask her is when the wedding will be. Mae uses her volunteer position to go check out a potential new trail to get away from everyone. Of course, it doesn’t go as planned.
At first I couldn’t understand why Mae was so reluctant to set a date, but I was in tears at the end. It made so much sense. There were plenty of surprises about this case and what will probably be the next one! I love this series. Each time a book comes out, it is like visiting old friends.

Poe Baxter and her best friend, Beattie, head to Scotland to buy a rare book. While doing research, they stumble upon a body and are drawn into a murder investigation.
I am a fan of the St Marin and Stitches in Crime series. I loved when Poe mentioned Paisley Sutton and her newsletters and stories about her son. But I had trouble connecting with this book. Poe is a 47-year-old former college professor, but most of the time I felt like I was reading about a much younger, naïve character. I felt like there was too many instances where I had to suspend disbelief for me to really enjoy the story. This was an OK read for me and I will read the next one.

It’s wedding time for Bernie and Mac! And in the days prior to that, it is little Clara’s birthday and the local high school’s football game. With all that going on, Bernie finds time to investigate a murder.
I love this series. Bernie is so relatable dealing with issues many women her age deal with. The way she loves her friends, family, fur babies, and town makes every visit to Sugar Creek Gap an enjoyable experience. The book started of with a surprise and a mystery for Bernie to investigate and then when there was a murder, it was quite a twist. Having the DJ for the wedding being a suspect added a nice dose of humor. Bernie and Mac’s last wedding gift had me tearing up. I can’t wait to see what married life has in store for Bernie.

Paisley Sutton is invited to go through centuries worth of items in a local house. She makes an unexpected discovery that someone wants to keep hidden.
I can’t believe this is book #9 already! I love getting together with Paisley, Sawyer, Santiago, and all their friends and family. As they investigated one mystery, they would find another. All the twists kept me guessing until the end. There was some heavy subject matter, but it was handled very thoughtfully by Paisley and the author.

The upcoming holiday being celebrated in Holiday Junction is Mother's Day. Violet is working on getting adjusted at the newspaper and can’t go back to Normal to see her mother, Millie Kay. Millie Kay has some surprises up her sleeve for Violet.
I enjoy this series and seeing Violet try to remain in control when she clearly is not in control of much in her life. Violet is learning to investigate but she has a lot to learn. The murder kept me guessing and adding Millie Kay in to the story added a good dose of humor. The Stricklands are an interesting family and I look forward to joining Violet as she learns more about them.

It is Daniel Boone Days in Normal, KY and Miss Daniel Boone Days is murdered. It looks like an open and shut case. Mae and The Laundry Club Ladies believe Helen Pyle is innocent so they start investigating.
It is hard to believe this is the 26th book. I still look forward to seeing what the gang is up to. There was good news for some characters and sad news for others. The murder mystery was interesting and just when it seemed the guilty party had been identified, there was a twist blowing up that theory.
