Our protagonists- Nash and Lina - lovingly dubbed as Angel and Hotshot, are both struggling with life defining adversity experienced in their youth, and some in not so distant past.
There is so much emotion, intrigue, suspense and humor - Things We Hide From The Light is absolutely positively exquisite!
The vulnerability Nash and Lina (ever so reluctantly) share with each other, Knox and Naomi’s wedding, and the emotional depths of all of the supporting cast - nobody, and I mean NOBODY portrays a small town as masterfully as Lucy Score does! I think creating communities, and portraying interpersonal relationships is her superpower!!!!
“You are not your father, hotshot. And I am not some unhealthy habit that needs to be kicked. We are all very different people from the ones who made us. You didn’t turn to me to numb yourself to the pain. You turned to me to remember what felt good. To give yourself a reason to fight through the pain”.
I read this book in one sitting, it’s simply unputdownable. I cried, I laughed, I was on the edge of my seat and I felt those deep emotions as if I was experiencing them myself. Once again the author gives us a lovable rescue dog, meddling neighbors, small town shenanigans and an EPIC love story with guaranteed HEA.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves to read a great story!!!
Studly Do-Right
Sometimes the body recognizes what the head and heart are too stupid to see.
The body don’t lie. Huh. Maybe I should put that on a bumper sticker?
It was a new addition to Shark Week’s Crappy Hour. Electrical impulses from the electrodes simulated period pain. Knockemout’s residents weren’t ones to back down from a challenge, and I had to admit, it was pretty entertaining to watch tatted bikers and buff farmer types line up for their turn to try to walk with level 10 period cramps.
The brother exited his house…through the front window…which was closed.
Important enough not to let you distract me with your magic penis.
I just know there’s nothing ballsy or brave about living your whole life behind walls. The real good shit doesn’t start until those bricks come down and you invite someone in. If you’re not scared shitless, you’re doin’ it wrong.
Don’t be a dumbass. You don’t let everyone in. Only the ones who matter. The ones you want to trust. The ones you want to let you in. That vulnerability shit is just like respect. It’s earned.
You went to Lucian for advice? That guy is one typewriter away from The Shining.
“You’re interrupting my beauty sleep,” Mrs. Tweedy said. She was wearing a housecoat and holding what looked like a martini. “You sleep with a martini?” Nolan asked. “This is my middle-of-the-night nightcap.”
“You are not your father, hotshot. And I am not some unhealthy habit that needs to be kicked. We are all very different people from the ones who made us. You didn’t turn to me to numb yourself to the pain. You turned to me to remember what felt good. To give yourself a reason to fight through the pain.”
“You’re everything I always wanted and never thought I deserved.”
“You breathed life back into me. You brought me back to the light. Let me have you. Let me take you. Say you’re mine,” he demanded.
“Being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you trust yourself to be strong enough to handle the hurt. It’s actually the purest form of strength.”
Highly anticipated sequel to Things We Never Got Over and WOW WOW WOW!!! This book is absolute perfection!

I just finished listening to this book on release day. The narration is simply superb! . I cried, I laughed, I was on the edge of my seat and I felt those deep emotions as if I was experiencing them myself. Once again the author gives us a lovable rescue dog, meddling neighbors, small town shenanigans and an EPIC love story with guaranteed HEA.

The author’s ability to reach her audience on such a deep emotional level never seizes to amaze me, and it will certainly not be the same scene for everyone, but that profound soul-stirring connection will occur.
My heart was aching for the protagonists in so many different ways, yet I was laughing out loud in the next chapter at the snarky banter between Lucian and his “Pixie”.
In this third, and last, installment of the series we get to catch up with our favorite Knockemout residents, get a glimpse at the future of all beloved characters, and most importantly - accompany Lucian and Sloane on their life long journey into their HEA.
The story is told in dual point of view and we see many flashbacks to Sloane’s and Lucian’s formative years, where events took place that would forever alter the future they once dreamed for themselves, and will set the tone for their adult interactions.
Family and community plays an integral part in this captivating story, and the incredible cast of secondary characters draws you into the midst of the plot and makes you feel a part of the extended family.
Lucian and Sloane find their way to forever love at last; and as danger lurks around the interwoven suspense element unravels in a dramatic conclusion of events, and the most epic HEA!
“And for the first time in my life, I felt like the hero instead of the villain”.
The narration is superb!
Things We Left Behind was simply unstoppable for me, and I couldn’t recommend it more to anyone who enjoys superb story telling.

Things We Never Got Over introduces us to a small town in Virginia - Knockemout, and it’s eclectic mix of residents. In true Lucy Score fashion, the author masterfully created yet another quirky community that I absolutely adored. Our protagonists, Naomi and Knox, as well as the dynamic cast of secondary characters are sure to immediately capture your heart.
The story is mainly enemies to lovers, with a bit of a mistaken identity but most importantly it’s about taking chances and being brave when love comes calling.
This book has all the hallmarks of a perfect romcom - love, swoon, steam, intrigue, grumpy hero and sunshine heroine, meddling, well meaning friends snd guaranteed HEA.
I definitely recommend Things We Never Got Over to all romcom enthusiasts!
Nick, Riley and their investigative team, including Ms Penny - the ever energetic octogenarian “silent partner” in Santiago investigations, is back again woking some Primo pro bono cases and solving a mystery of an unexpected visitor from the past, who brings about the present danger. And the danger will keep you on the edge, while simultaneously rolling on the floor laughing at the witty and hysterical plot twists that will have everyone giggling uncontrollably.
Just look out for the “Code Man Fanny”!
I absolutely loved this book and definitely recommend to everyone looking for a fun relaxing read!

We are also introduced to a few new players, mainly the stern Elanora, Riley’s Psychic Grandmother, who arrives to ensure Riley is using her gifts and practicing her craft, and who insist on lessons to advance Riley’s skills. Nick’s parents and his sister’s family are no longer the best kept secret Nick never wanted to share, but there are some surprise past connections that will have Nick experiencing feelings he never had before. Detective Kellen Weber, Nick’s former partner, also plays a bigger role, as he engages Riley (against Nick wishes), to be a consultant on a string of recent homicides.
Hilarious investigative shenanigans commence from here, and the author takes us on a laugh out loud roller coaster ride of exquisitely written who dunnit mystery with a side of romance!

Sophie Abbott is a sweet, lovable heroine with a predisposition to trip over thin air. Her adorable clumsiness is just one of her attributes you’re gonna fall in love with.
While in Vegas on a business trip/girls weekend with her boss and her best friends, she accidentally marries Camden Cox, her childhood nemesis.
“Corban and Mr. Calloway sat at a nearby table, tolerating each other’s company, in a rather adorable attempt to give us girls the illusion that they weren’t hovering over their wives”.
From here, we accompany Sophie and Cox as they navigate their accidental marriage, that might not end up being so fake after all!
I absolutely loved Sophie and Cox, as well as the phenomenal cast of secondary characters. Cox’s feisty Mom and his assistant Oliver with a secret crush on the tea shop girl; Sophie’s Dad, who’s forever attempting to set her up with every available bachelor; Sophie’s besties - Everly, Hazel and Nora and of course, the ever grumpy Shepherd Calloway, who forms an unexpected alliance with Corban Nash to intimidate Cox and protect Sophie from getting hurt. As the dynamic duo of bad cop/good cop they are absolutely hilarious!!!
But not everything is as it seems, as our protagonists explore their feelings for each other, there’s evil looming in the shadows; but don’t despair, karma delivers a swift retribution.
Marrying Mr. Wrong is a true delight, I can’t adequately express my love for this beautiful story. There’s kindness, romance, humor, swoon and steam, an adorkable heroine and self-assured hero, amazing friends, meddling parents and so much more that makes this book my favorite read EVER!!!
If you are a romcom enthusiast, this is a MUST READ NOW story, I couldn’t recommend it more!!!

I was absolutely taken by this story, the protagonists - Remi and Brick are pure MAGIC together. They’ve quickly become my favorite Lucy Score couple.
As with all books by this author we get a captivating story line, amazing cast of characters, romance, witty banter, swoon worthy moments, humor, suspense and some serious heat.
Forever Never plays out on Mackinac Island - off season, when only a few hundred locals inhabit this beautiful corner of the world. The colorful description of the winter on Mackinac was breathtaking, I felt like I was walking the streets with the characters and I definitely want to visit there after reading this book.
Remi returns to her hometown unexpectedly, which wreaks havoc on Brick’s quiet existence. She finds herself in a bit of trouble and the only place she can feel safe is close to Brick.
“There was something in his spirit that demanded that all the people he cared about be safe”.
As the story unravels we get to visit with the locals, meet the families, extended families and friends of our hero and heroine and learn about both of their personalities, vulnerabilities, hopes and dreams; as well as their complicated history.
Lucy Score weaves a riveting tale, that keeps you on the edge, immersed and invested in the story from page one until the amazing HEA.
I could not put this book down, and I highly recommend it to all romance/romantic suspense enthusiasts!!!!
