Let me start by saying, that no other author I know can write a hot, brooding, arrogant alphahole like this author. And Holt Sebastian is no exception. He's rich (of course), tall and handsome (of course) and a total player (of course). He goes after what he wants, plays any game he needs to in order to win the object of his attention, and usually ends up getting what he wants.
Now, we have Brystin Shaw, and her husband of convenience and career strategy, Michael Endlich. I didn't like Michael from the start. For obvious reasons there is no chemistry between the two. I didn't feel invested in his character and couldn't have cared less what happened to him. I bet you'll feel the same.
Here is where I had a problem with the story. While the author was trying to portray Brystin as a strong, career driven female character, she actually came across to me as weak and insecure, compromising her own self-worth and morals for the sake of making a name for herself. From the very beginning of the game that Holt was playing, I was hoping she'd have a spine, but she didn't. Now, don't get me wrong, it was clear the attraction was there, and the steamy scenes fogged up my Kindle.
But, I wasn't a fan of Brystin being ok with the arrangement, loveless marriage or not. I prefer my female characters stronger than that. I prefer they know their self-worth and wouldn't compromise it for anything. And, while Holt was hot and commanding, he was, as Brystin called him, and A$$holt.
Overall, this was a good, steamy read. I just had an issue with the plot. I am looking forward to the next books in this series. I can't wait to see what the other Sebastian men will be up to.

If I have one suggestion for you before you read this, it's this. Don't have your nails done beforehand because you're going to end up chewing them down to your fingertips.
This was the most intense, and stressful book I've read in a long time. From the very beginning, you will find yourself on edge. You'll find yourself biting your nails (hence the aforementioned warning), and chewing on your lip.
This was page after page of unpredictability and nerve-racking tension!! It was awesome!!
And of course, it wouldn't be a Modglin book without a blindsiding twist!! The name of the book may be Don't Go Down There (and you soooo shouldn't) but you definitely need to "go there" and grab this book!!
I love all of Ms. Modglin's books, but this one is going up to the top of my list of favorites!!

Well, the Bass family sure put the FUN in dysFUNction, that's for sure. Yikes!!
I started out really liking our main couple, Lowell Bass and Austyn Murphy. They seemed so happy and in love, and newly engaged are envisioning their happy-ever-after. Then tragedy strikes and the two head to his family's estate to take care of the matter. That's when it starts to go all wrong and where I lost my love for Lowell. When Austyn accidentally stumbles on a piece of the manor's history, she unwittingly opens up a path that exposes old wounds, secrets, betrayals, and yes, possibly murder. Not only that but Lowell seems to be unrecognizable to her. Maybe she didn't know him as well as she thought. Some secrets are best left buried. Sometimes literally.
You know the saying "if these walls could talk..."? If the walls of the Bass estate could talk, I'm sure it would be a horror story. Goodness gracious!! And that ending? I literally gasped!! Totally unexpected!!
I love how this author is coming up with new and creative story lines with every book she writes. she has been dubbed "The Queen of Twists and Turns" by her readers, and that title is well deserved! Once again I bow down before the Queen for another brilliant, suspenseful, and twisty story!!

Let me start off by saying, I have loved The Fallen Saint series. Devlin and Ellie's story was just amazing! And now, we have the story of Brandy (Ellie's best friend) and Ronan (Devlin's closest friend and holder of all of his secrets).
There's nothing I love more than a broken hero that doesn't think he deserves the woman he wants, and keeps her at arm's length, until, that same woman shows him how wrong he is. That's what we have here with Brandy and Ronan. I liked the back and forth, the pushing of buttons, and of course, the steamy times. But, the story line seemed a bit far fetched for me and I just wish we had seen a little more in the previous books of these two that would have strengthened their back story and chemistry for this one.
Overall, I liked the book, and I love the series. I would recommend the Fallen Saint series to everyone!

Well, Queen Kiersten has done it again! I was kept guessing all the way through, and then, at the end, I was shocked once again!!
The seamless transitions between present day, and the past, were brilliant. I've read books with flashbacks before and they can be confusing to say the least. Not this time! It was perfectly executed and gave the reader both a perfect history of the characters, and left you with just enough distrust of each of them in the present. Amazing!!
You know, I've only been to one of my high school reunions. I'm still in touch with most of my circle of friends from that time anyway. But, after reading this, I don't think I'll be attending any in the future either.
I love, love, love this author!! She always keeps you on your toes and never sure of the "whodunnit" all the way until the end! Bravo Queen Modglin on another twisty, turny thriller!!

Once again, Ms. Modglin delivers an amazing thriller that keeps you glued to every page!
My heart broke for Ginny and how hard she was struggling and how committed she was to healing. I went back and forth with my emotions toward Cameron. He was a doting father, for sure, but he got on my bad side a bit too. I'm sure you'll figure out why. As a parent myself, I can't imagine the horror they were going through, but the mystery remained - what happened? Well, you'll have to read it to find out!
I'm not going to give away anything here, but needless to say, you'll be shocked by the ending! Who am I kidding, I'm shocked at the ending of every one of Ms. Modglin's books!! She truly is the Queen of Twists and Turns!
If you haven't read any of her books, you are missing out. BIG TIME! Don't wait another minute and grab this one! Heck, grab any of hers!! You won't be disappointed!!

What a great way to finish this series!
We were able to catch up with all of these amazing couples and see what they were up to, where they're going, and so much more.
Not only that, but we got a glimpse of a new character (Ryker) and the hint of what's to come!
If you haven't read this series, what are you waiting for? If you have read it, then you definitely don't want to miss this one!!

I really enjoyed this story! Sometimes the best things come out of the worst times, right?
So we have Damon, who is still dealing with his break up with his ex-girlfriend, and Joey, Damon's roommate, who now find themselves in lockdown due to COVID-19 restrictions. Spending more time together, Damon starts noticing Joey in ways he never imagined he would. When things turn tragic, will Damon get the chance to tell Damon how he's feeling?
The story encompasses the unsettling feeling many had during the pandemic, the extreme anxiety some experienced and the fear some had/have about being out in public. But it's more than that. It's a story of self-discovery, acceptance, and love.
Even with the uncertainty of the current times, it's a reminder to count the blessings that you have right in front of you.

"I knew that I needed to keep my distance from him. Eric was a temptation that my heart couldn't handle."
What a great, quick and steamy read!!
So Willow has a one-night stand with Eric and then sneaks out without saying goodbye. Flash forward a year and he's front and center, offering her a life-altering opportunity. Is working for him a smart thing to do? Well, her head may tell her one thing, the rest of her body is screaming something different!
I loved how he was so patient, but at the same time just utterly irresistible!!
What a great addition to this anthology! Check out Renee's other books if you have the chance!!
Oh. My. Word!!! This series has put me through the wringer!!
Book 2, Wild War, will give you the background of how Cade and Jolie were thrown together and how the endured the horror that was their life under her father's roof. It also will show you the risks they took - the chances of getting caught - and what each endured for the other. Then the one decision she makes, changes everything.
All I can say about her father is, yeah, he's got to go down. His mother is not much better but I am sensing somewhat of a redemption for her - not enough to erase her wrongs, but maybe a smidge of remorse is coming through.
And, don't get me started on the ending!! You thought the ending to book 1 was a shock? Just you wait!!!
The next book can't come soon enough!!

I cannot remember the last time I was on the edge of my seat like I was with this book! I made the mistake of reading this while my husband was out of town and I was alone in the house. I had all the lights on, and still every little creak freaked me out!
So, we have Grace and Ryan, newly married, and planning a delayed honeymoon. Instead of heading far away or to some tropical paradise, Ryan books a cabin in the mountains of Tennessee. Nothing ever good happens in an isolated cabin, especially with this author!! Soon, the week-long love nest they were hoping for turns in to a nightmare and they find themselves trapped with no way out, no way to call for help, and a strange man in the woods, who by all indication, is coming for them - and not in a friendly or helpful way.
I am not going to spoil anything for you here, I try never to do that, but let's just say, in true Modglin style, there is layer after layer of twists in this story. Betrayal, secrets, ulterior motives, you name it, it's in here.
You know, I've been in a cabin in the mountains before, and I always loved the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sprawling vista, and I've loved it. Until now. Daytime - fine. Night time - not so much.
I've read all of this author's books and have been shocked by the ending each and every time. She has such a talent for creating new and original storylines, and twists and turns you won't see coming. While all of her books are just amazing, this one has to be one of my favorites!!

First Finn. Blech. Then Dune. Meh. Now Chloe meets Ryan. He seems like the perfect match - they're both artists, have a lot of common interests, and to top it all off? The beard. Oh, yes, the beard. The soft, silky, below-the-chin, beard that feels oh so good. Everywhere. But is the beard enough to carry this relationship? Is it enough for Chloe to overlook the red flags?
I will say, I will never look at Gummy Bears without laughing . That scene was hilarious!! #BaconLegs
This series is so fun. It's light and whimsical and will make you laugh out loud! Oh, and the ending? Yes!!
I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who has endured the horror that is dating!
