She can’t put mystery, suspense, humor, and romance in one book and keep it all on the rails. Oh, yes she can! And she did. Lucy Score definitely has another top spot on my “read it, loved it, will read it again” list. I loved catching up with Riley, Nick, and the rest of the quirky and lovable characters in Harrisburg, PA in this second installment of the Riley Thorn series. Lucy infuses her characters with solid back stories, serious snark, and over-the-top personalities, and it works so beautifully with the plot she builds around them. The budding relationship between Riley and Nick is helped along by seemingly unrelated adventures that pull them together and make them realize how much stronger they are as a team. Lucy continues to create a beautiful village of chaos including everyone’s favorite unconventional housemates, their unstoppably adorable dog, and the ever-evolving Gabe. Then she adds to the magnificent mayhem with even more personalities, including Riley’s austere grandmother. The storyline had me laughing out loud, plowing through multiple bags of microwave popcorn, and staying up late into the night because I just couldn’t stop reading. And entangled in it all, there’s a beautiful message of acceptance, care for others, and what friendships and family bonds truly mean. After picking my jaw up off the floor after the last page of this book, I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.

Lexi & Easton both have demons to slay. The question is will they get past the fear of being too broken to heal? Building on the suspense & intrigue created in One Little Heartbreak, One Little Mistake is another Avery Maxwell tearjerker that also brings the strength and sass, and of course a beautiful HEA. Mistake takes the reader on a wild ride deeper into the chaos of the Westbrook and Heart families. Avery creates an amazing amount of tension, but infuses it with quick and sharp humor, moving the story forward quickly. There was no slow build-up here, I was all in from chapter 1 and couldn’t put this book down. Many questions about the Westbrook siblings and Burke Hollow and its residents are answered, but even more appear, leaving me looking forward to the next book yet again. Even with the questions and suspense, Lexi & Easton’s story is complete and beautifully written. And once again, GG knows best.
