Campbell Bishop has moved back home due to his family being in crisis.
He is helping with the family run general store, the farm animal sanctuary, and the family construction business, The Bishop Brother's, that he and his brother's Gage and Levi own along with their father.
They are in desperate need of finding clients to keep their business running.

The whole town of Story Lake seems to becoming a ghost town while Dominion, the town over, seems to be stealing their businesses and their residents.

When Hazel Hart buys the Heart House property, she finds that they did the old bait and switcheroo.
Not only did she get a run down home but a seat on the city council.
It's going to need a lot of renovations and the Bishop Brother's are the right company for the job.
It's a win win for everyone.

When Hazel propositions the very grumpy Cam, into a not so fake date, for inspiration purposes only, they find themselves in a relationship that neither of them intended on being in.

Lucy Score has done it again.
This is a brilliantly written masterpiece for your bookshelf collection.

He was expected to marry at 30 to a woman of proper status and produce a male heir.

When he meets Felicity Dunleavy, he finds her captivating.
She has had a hard life in the foster care system where the people she would learn to care for would always leave until she finds Mrs Angelini.
She doesn't put her trust in people easily because they have always broken her heart.
Mrs. Angelini takes care of her like the mother she's never had, and she becomes the daughter that Mrs Angelini never had.

Leo and Felicity know their time is short and that they will get hurt in the end, but they can't help the attraction they feel for each other.

As they navigate through the ups and downs of life, they eventually find their happy-ever-after.

I very much enjoyed the audible with Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan. I am new to Jacob Morgan and thoroughly enjoyed his British accent and when he did Nan's voice at the end it was very emotional. Andi always does a beautiful job and was exceptional once again with her inflections and the way she portrayed the characters.

I look forward to Sigmund's story, The Surrogate, next.

I love when we are able to tie up loose ends. This is the perfect ending to this series. I love that these two finally got together. It's a definite read if you've read the Neighbor Dearest in this series.

One of the best forbidden stories I've ever read.

I will be reading this one again.

When Elek O'Rork came to stay with his father and his new family at the age of 17, he planned to make his life miserable.

Greta was also 17 and was the daughter of his father's new wife that she had in a previous marriage.

Elek tried to hate her but the attraction was so strong it was impossible.

They had one night together, Greta's first, and then he had to leave to go back and take care of his mom.

Seven years later they would meet up agaikn for his dad's funeral and wild see things between them hadn't really changed except now Elek was in a relationship with Chelsea and he loved her.

As feelings warred between them, Elek has to make a decision, the right one.

Someone he loved was going to get hurt no matter what he chose to do.

I definitely recommend the new audio version of this story.

Andi Arndt is an amazing narrator.

Christian Fox nailed it.

This is the first dual narration that I've listen to and it was so beautifully done.

The inflections and the way they giggled or reacted to each other made you feel like you were in the room with them.

When they would do a dramatic pause, I was holding my breath.

The story came to life with this narration.

Sometimes, getting back to what you love brings out the best in an author.

I loved the dynamics of Daisy and Westin.

When Daisy's life is turned upside down from helping those who had no one else to turn to.
West declares that he will marry his best friend to help get the spotlight off her.

There is nothing better than a best friend that has your back.

Westin would do anything for his best friend, aka the coach's daughter.

The only problem, they are both in love with one another but haven't admitted it to each other, and this marriage of convenience might just end up being for real.

If you need a dark steamy romance then this is the one for you.

Maria has a way of making her stories come to life.
Her style of writing stories is so very unique.

Laurel, aka Avery Washington, has lived a life you would never wish even upon your worst enemies.

At a young age, she watched her mother be murdered before her eyes by her stepfather, whom she thought cared for them both.
She has been on the run from him ever since.

Lincoln Asher is a cop. He keeps to himself and has a very dark upbringing.

He has secrets of his own, but when he meets Avery, something flips inside of him, and now he can't escape the way she pulls him back to her.
She just may be the death of him.
Th audible is a great addition to this book.
This is the first of two books and must be read in order.

Lucy Score is a Rom-com queen.

Nick Santiago is a PI with his psychic girlfriend Riley Thorn and a group of elderly people led by Mi Mrs. Penny, who will have you laughing out loud.

They are tasked with keeping Riley Thorn ex, who is an entitled snob, alive.

With his list of suspects growing longer by the minute, it will take everything to keep him alive long enough for Nick not to kill him himself.

This is a quick, easy read that will have you guessing right up to the end.

I am quite fond of this series. ❤️

Consider a grumpy cowboy who had his heart broken after he had everything he thought he needed for a perfect life, only to have it all taken away from him.

Add to that a sassy DEA Agent who has been doing the job she has always dreamed of.

She has been working diligently for a long time to bring down the Lavoto cartel.
When she stumbles upon a little girl who is hiding after witnessing her mother's murder, she is determined to do whatever it takes to protect her.
When she brings the girl to a father who never knew she existed, the sparks and attraction between them are undeniable, but she has never wanted a family. She loves her job and that has always been enough for her.

This book is filled with suspense, drama, and romance.

This story will evoke a range of emotions from the very beginning to the very end.

I believe you will grow fond of the Hatley family just as I have.

It is a standalone story that is connected to other books by this author.

This author just blew me away!! I love suspense mystery, and this story had me hooked by the first chapter.

Gage Palmer has had to give up on his dreams to care for his siblings after his father dies and his mother takes off.

He doesn't regret taking over the family bar that has been in his family for generations, and he definitely doesn't regret taking care of his siblings. They are his world.
He doesn't want them to get hurt by losing someone they love if he can help it.

When Rory Bishop walks into his bar, he finds out that she is even more snarky and beautiful than her teenage self.

She's following in her parents' footsteps and living the life of her favorite TV show idol.

When Gage's brother goes missing, he asks Rory for help, but they soon find that their lives are intertwined and must help each other to find out why her mother is laying unconscious in a bed and why his brother's vision seems to be tied up in it.

This is such a well written and well thought out story with great characters that have you rooting for two people whose lives you want to see intertwined, even after all the wreckage.

“Sometimes in order to build things back up, you gotta tear them down to the studs."

Trust takes years to build, seconds to break and forever to repair.

The third book in the fabulous Knockamount series is so wonderfully written.

If you love friends to enemies, and real real enemies to lovers then this book will be your favorite in this series.

Lucian (Lucifer) Rollins is a self made very wealthy man who can give you power and then take it away.
He protects those closest to him and will stop at nothing to help them be safe.

Sloane (pixie) Walton is a head Librarian.
Everyone loves her except for Lucifer.
She has worked very hard to make this library a success not just for her, but really for the town she loves.

When they were younger they lived next door to each other.
They became very close due to Lucian troubled home life.
Her family adopted him in away that allowed him to find out what it was like to be in a home filled with love and not rage.
When Sloane betrays his trust he could no longer be friends with her so they became enemies that couldn't stand to even be in the same room together.

When they are forced to be civil to each other, after her dad dies, things start to heat up until Sloane is threated and they don't know who it is.

We see a relationship that takes a long time to repair and the work that goes into it unfold before our eyes on these pages.

This story is full of angst and heartbreak.
It is full of love and compassion.
It's full of belly laughs and sobs.

I recommend this book and series to anyone who wants a great read in 2023.

Book four in this series and I want more!

In book four we pick up with a beautiful Columbian drummer Adria.
In the beginning her and Rowan would hook up when their paths crossed.
He always made her feel things no one else could.
She was never looking for anything more.
Her parents showed her that a relationship with her career wasn't possible.

Rowan wanted the fairy-tale, but when
he pushed for it in the wrong way Adria ran but he has been patiently waiting for her. No one else will do.

Now, he's the enemy and he's doing a documentary on The Painted Daisies and he's always around.

When Adria's sister shows up like she's been brainwashed, and threatens her family and her, she will do anything to help her see its not true.
Ronan will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

More clues are also given as to Landry's death.

This series is a mystery right down to the end of the last book.

What do you do when you find your soul mate and you know that it could destroy both your worlds?

Leya is the Vice President daughter and in a band that's recognized world wide for the music they make. She has also been promised in marriage to a man since she was 15.

Holden Kent is the lead secret service detail, assigned to protect the Vice President daughter after a series of attempts have been made on three of the Daisies lives. One of which resulted in the death of the band member Landry.

They all want answers as to what really happened that night to their friend.

Now, Leya is being targeted and it seems that there maybe a leak with in the secret service.
This sends Holden and Leya on the run.
Things start to get steamy between them but if they give in it will have repercussions for both of them.

In this book we get a few more clues as to what might have possibly happened.
