When Kenni gets the call that Judge Blackwell was found dead in his chambers nothing will stop her from finding the murderer, not even a wedding dress. During her investigation Kenni finds some buried secrets and some forgotten tunnels that run under the town. Can Kenni keep peace with her mama about the wedding and solve the murder before the trial gets cold?

I love this series, it’s one of my favorites by author Tonya Kappes. Kenni is a smart and dedicated Sheriff, however, she still looks forward to working with her ghost grandpa. I love the chemistry and relationships between the characters, however, Kenni’s relationship with her mama is a typical southern mother daughter relationship which is hilarious at times. The mystery is great. There are plenty of twists and turns and suspects to keep you guessing.

Normal, Kentucky, is hosting an Olympic ski trails event. The town hopes this event will help bring tourism to the area during the off-season. The ski celebrities bring in not only fans but also drama and rivalry, which results in a dead body. Mae and the laundry club ladies are once again right in the middle of the investigation.

This is a fun wintery storyline that you will want to curl up with a cozy blanket and favorite beverage and lose yourself in. The mystery is full of twists, turns, and surprises. I did not figure out who the killer was or why until the end. The characters are your best southern girlfriends, you can't wait to catch up with all the drama and gossip they have to tell you. Normal, Kentucky and Happy Trails Campground is a great setting you will want to visit over and over.

Darrin surprised Violet with the grand re-opening of the Christmas Lodge. He arranged for Millie Kay and Radley to cover the opening for the Junction Journal. Violet enjoyed the night but so much she went back afterwards to get her own pictures. Violet got more than just photos when she stumbled over another body.

I love this series, this book is no exception. Holiday Junction is such a fun town with all their holiday celebrations. Violet is a smart and determined journalist. She and her mom have the ability to get people to spill all their secrets. The mystery is well plotted and paced with plenty of twists and turns.

Daniel Boone Festival is in full swing when the Frontier Village goes up in flames. Mae and the ladies soon learn this fire wasn't accidental when the body of a historian was found in the fire. Mae, Dottie, Queenie, Betts, and Abby need to smoke out the killers before one of them are the next target.

I love how each of the ladies' knowledge, backgrounds and personalities help them in their investigation. Sure they might be a bit nosy, but they are smart, resourceful, and compassionate. The mystery is well-plotted with plenty of suspects and surprising twists. I was surprised by the killer.

Roxy is preparing for Honey Springs’s annual Friendsgiving Harvest Festival, when a scream somewhere on the boardwalk turns everything to chaos. The spotlight rescue pet is a dog named Deputy who seems to have a nose for trouble leads Roxy on a sprint to ends a scarecrow. Unfortunately the scarecrow isn’t what it appears which means once again Roxy runs head first into a murder investigation.

If you’re looking for a cozy mystery with humor, southern charm, rescue fur babies, and a touch of romance look no further. Returning to Honey Springs at the best time of the year, Fall, first stop The Bean Hive to have a great cup of coffee. Visiting with Roxy, the fur babies, and the other residents you can always expect some great southern charm, a few quirky characters, best gossip, and a few laughs. I do like Roxy and of course all the sweet fur babies, but Aunt Maxie sure knows how to make things interesting. The mystery has plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Maisie Doss is back in her third official investigation as a CI. This time she’s accidentally pulled into an investigation while trying to keep her secrets from Wes. Wes is an investigator whose interest sometimes focus more on Maisie than she’d like. Maisie goes undercover at a horse stable where she thinks she investigating horse betting, but she quickly finds out it so much more. Can she help break the case without getting herself killed?

Once again Tonya Kappes weaves together a great storyline with mystery, southern charm, humor, and a touch of romance. In this hard-boiled cozy Maisie isn’t your typical innocent and naive protagonist. Maisie knows how to bend the rules and truth when needed. She a strong female, who is loyal to her family and friends, but will not hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones or serve justice to those who need it. The mystery is well-written with plenty of suspense and well place red herrings. This is quickly becoming a favorite series for me.

As the bingo game is ending, there seems to be an argument between two of the ladies. Then during the fireworks, one of those ladies is found guilty outside a local shop. The shop owner asks Mae for help finding out who committed the murder. Could this murder be over a silly argument or does this have something to do with the victim's past?

This book is full of humor and Southern charm. Several of the characters show a good bit of development during this book. One of these characters is Dottie. Dottie is one of my favorite characters, she is full of personality makes no apologies for who she is, and speaks what is on her mind. The mystery is full of surprises that keep you guessing whodunit. The secondary story of Mae's sister-in-law's pregnancy is well woven into the mystery perfectly.

Maisie Doss Mysteries is a fun new series by Tonya Kappes. Maisie
is complex, she sometimes bends the rules and walks at the edge of the law. She has trouble trusting especially those in law enforcement, but to her family and friends, she is loyal to the end. If there was a soundtrack for this book it would be "Goodbye Earl by The Chicks. The mystery is engaging and full of fun surprises.

As Mitzy and the folks of Pin Cherry Harbor are preparing for the Winter Extravaganza the curling arena burns down mysteriously. The whole town is acting strange and sending Mitzy psychic images of a snow princess.
Despite the strangeness and the warning from the Sheriff, Ghost-ma, and Pyewacket, Mitzy is determined to find out who is behind the arson.

This has been such a fun series. If you love a paranormal cozy mystery with a touch of romance you will love this book. Mitzy is my favorite character, she is fun, smart, and full of snark. The secondary characters are just as entertaining and quirky as Mitzy. The mystery is full of twists, turns, and surprises. There is a big change in Mitzy and Erick's relationship.

The narrator is a great voice for Mitzy. She captures her personality perfectly as well as gives the other characters their unique voice. This audiobook is a must listen too.

Book 1

This is a fun mystery. I love Mitzy’s character. She is unique, flawed, strong willed and full of spunk. The secondary characters are also unique and likable. The mystery is well plotted with quite a few twists and turns along the way.

The narrator Coleen Marlo does a fabulous job bring the book to life. She brings out each character’s personality. Great book to listen to made me aloud out loud while listening.

Book2

This is a hilariously fun series. My favorite character, Mitzy, is a strong-willed, sassy female. She does have her issues, but who doesn’t. The mystery is well-developed with several suspects and red-herring to keep you in suspense of who the killer really is.

The narrator is a great storyteller. She does a great job bringing Mitzy’s and the other characters' personalities to life. I look forward to the next in the series.

Book 3

This series is so much fun. The main protagonist, Mitzy is fun, sassy, and sarcastic. The secondary characters are entertaining in their own ways. The mystery is suspenseful, fast-paced, and full of twists and turns.

The narrator does a fantastic job bringing Mitzy and the others off the page. She has great timing and diction, I never have a problem telling which character is speaking. Her tone and accents are entertaining. I really enjoyed listening to this book.

With Dottie participating in a bass tournament, the remaining Laundry Club Ladies want to cheer her on. While the ladies attempted to locate the best place to watch Dottie they heard a gunshot. Thinking they witnessed a couple of poachers, Mae tried to follow the sound only to see a possible human victim. When one of the fishermen doesn’t show up at the end of the tournament they start looking for a missing person. Mae and the ladies want to help solve this case.

I love every visit to Normal, KY with Mae and the ladies. You know you are in for an entertaining cozy mystery full of twists and turns. This time was no exception. I was completely surprised by the final twist revealing the real killer and why. The characters are so fun, they have different backgrounds and jobs, but support one another and love solving a mystery. I definitely recommend this book as well as the series to all cozy mystery readers.
