A Dead Nephew
Anna Celeste Burke
WOW!! This book is three mysteries in one. All three are interconnected and related to the death of Sacramento Lugo but are distinctly individual mysteries. I think this is the most complex of the entire series. There were plenty of twists and turns to hold my attention and keep me guessing from beginning to end. Jessica and the Cat Pack are once again on the trail of 'la cream de la crud' in the desert cities of southern California. They solve the mysteries as only this unique group of characters can. The Cat Pack is expanding with the addition of several new members who bring their own unique skills and perspectives to help solve the crimes. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series. If you like well thought out mysteries with likable characters and a dash of humor, I urge you to read the Jessica Huntington Desert Cities Mysteries.
A Canary In The Canal is a great addition to the Georgie Shaw cozy mystery series. Once again, Georgie and Jack are on the case to catch a killer when Max's newest protégé ends up dead. The victim had made a lot of enemies but who would want her dead? If you like cozies with likable characters, an engaging plot, and twists and turns to keep you guessing, then I urge you to read this book.
Kitchen Magic is an enjoyable paranormal cozy mystery, Muriel and her friend, Ophelia, co-host a cooking show When a murder occurs, Muriel immediately knows there is dark magic behind it. There have been two other murders linked to this one. Along with her personal trainer, Barry, they set out to solve the murders. As the story unfolds, we learn about Muriel's magic abilities as she uses them to unravel all the clues. Detective Harper Maddox is a breath of fresh air. He's intelligent, competent, nerdy, and smitten with Muriel. I truly enjoyed this story and hope there are more stories to come with these delightful characters.
