Cowabunga Christmas is a highly enjoyable cozy mystery. It reminded me of an old-fashioned screwball comedy/mystery movie. That is a good thing because I love those movies. There were references to Brien and Kim being Moondoggie and Gidget. That certainly fits! Brien isn't the brightest bulb in the package but he has a good heart and means well. I love how he tried to use big, impressive words and always chose the wrong one. Kim is definitely brighter than Brien. The way she patiently explained to him, or someone else, what he meant was cute. She did it in a loving way and never put him down. Kim and Brien are enjoyable, likable characters. While it was obvious they were "hot" for each other, there is no sex in this story. A big plus in my book.

Kim and Brien wanted to have a Cowabunga Christmas(super memorable) and they definitely got their wish. I can't wait to read Gnarly New Year-the next book in the series. If you enjoy cozy mysteries with a huge dose of humor, you definitely need to read this book.
WOW!! This story starts with a bang and never lets up. There is plenty of action, lots of twists and turns, and a romance to top it all off! Anna Celeste Burke has written an exciting story to start off the Calla Lily Mystery series. I look forward to seeing the relationship between Lily and Austin develop as the series continues. I'm also looking forward to learning more about Judy and Jesse, as well as Lily's posse. I urge you to read all books written by this talented author.
A Tango Before Dying is an excellent addition to the Georgie Shaw Cozy Mystery series. There is never a dull moment at Marvelous Marley World! There were plenty of twists and turns to hold my attention and keep me guessing. I didn't figure out what was going on until it was revealed.

If you enjoy well-written stories with likable, realistic characters, and an entertaining plot, I urge you to read all the books written by this talented author.
Miriam, GO.L.D., and Charly's Angels are back in the 2nd book of the series. This time they are trying to figure out what is going on in Shakespeare's Cottage since Robyn insists there is a ghostly intruder. It was fun catching up with my favorite geriatric sleuths.

Once again Anna Celeste Burke has written a terrific book. The Murder of Shakespeare's Ghost has plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I had figured out part of what was going on but I didn't figure out the entire convoluted mess. It was interesting to see how all the parts fit together and led to "murder most foul."
Another winner for Anna Celeste Burke! Miriam and the gang are back in the third book of the Seaview Cottages Cozy Mystery series. There are several mysteries in this book: What happened to Allen Rogow in Vietnam? Was he murdered and buried on Dickens' Dune several years after his return? Who did Jimmy Dunn work for and is Miriam in danger? The twists and turns will keep you guessing "whodunit" until the end.

I love the way each member of GOLD has a unique background/strength that complements the rest of the group and makes them so much more capable when they work together. Even Charly's Angels have their own unique niche to fill. I truly enjoy books where the characters are middle-aged and beyond and show that people can still be productive regardless of age.

If you enjoy books with likable, competent characters, an engaging plot that keeps you turning the pages, an interesting mystery, humor, and a touch of romance, then I urge you to read Grave Expectations On Dickens' Dune.
Kim and Brien are back in a new, fun read in the Corsario Cove series. Brien may be the local hero after rescuing a drowning dog but someone isn't happy about the situation. Kim, Brian, Bede, and Detective Mitchum are once again trying to stay ahead of the villains as they work to solve the mystery of who tried to kill Archie. Pepe brings a lot of humor to the story and I look forward to his future antics. There is plenty of action and intrigue that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could.
Anna Celeste Burke never disappoints. She writes cozy mysteries with well-developed characters and plots that have plenty of twists and turns to keep me interested from beginning to end. In A Tangle In The Vines, a serial killer is on the loose and has been murdering people for many decades. While that may seem like a heavy plot for a cozy, this author pulls it off with ease.

Lily and Austin's relationship is ongoing and has moved to the next level--with a little help from a 12-year-old introduced in this story. I really hope Billie remains a part of the series. It was nice getting to know Lily's Posse in this story since they were introduced at the end of the first book. Judy and Jesse are back as are Dahlia and Rikki.

I urge you to read the Calla Lily Mystery Series. I look forward to many books to come in this entertaining series.
Jessica and the Cat Pack are back in action as they try to solve the cold case murder of Tommy's sister and Frank's cousin, Kelly. There are plenty of twists and turns, as well as some totally unexpected revelations about Kelly, as the story unfolds. Frank becomes a member of the Cat Pack and offers the perspective of law enforcement to the Pack's sleuthing. I really enjoy the way each member of the Cat Pack provides a different strength to the group. Jessica accepts Paul's offer of a job as she works on getting her life back on track. Now, if only she can figure out who she is romantically interested in. Hmmmm...

I thought the first 1/3 of the book dragged somewhat but not enough for me to quit reading. I've enjoyed the first two books in the series and am going to read Book 3 right now. I urge you to give the series a try if you like entertaining mysteries solved by amateur sleuths working with the police.
A Dead Daughter starts off with lots of action and the climax is full of twists and surprises!. An entertaining book from start to finish. The action at the beginning of the book feels like the end of a case but just opens the door for more intrigue and suspense. Even though we know who is behind all the murder and mayhem, it definitely doesn't detract from the story. I enjoy the way the story is serious but has plenty of humor and witty banter to keep it from getting dark. Each book in the series is a standalone but they are better read in order because the characters and their relationships evolve as the series progresses.
WOW! What a tangled web of deceit, greed, and murder! There is so much going on in this story that I stayed up way past my bedtime in order to find out how it all ended. I couldn't put it down. I've read the first 4 books in this series and this one is my favorite. The entire Cat Pack is back in action after a client/friend of Jessica's is murdered. Anastasia is a very nice addition to the series. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Once again Jessica and the Cat Pack are on the trail of "la creme de la crud" as they search for one of their own. Frank is missing and the body count keeps rising. Not knowing who to trust makes the case more difficult but with each member of the Cat Pack bringing their own special talent to the investigation, they quickly make headway into solving the mystery. I stayed up hours past my bedtime to finish this fast-paced, action-packed whodunit by the talented Anna Celeste Burke. While each story in this series is a standalone, I suggest reading them in order. The characters and their relationships evolve as the series progresses and recurring characters(other than the Cat Pack) are found throughout the books.
Another winner in the Calla Lily Mystery Series! The gang is all back to help solve another mystery. There are plenty of twists and turns, as well as suspects, to keep you guessing whodunit as the Calla Lily Murder Club investigates a murder and arson at a local winery. Another murder adds to the intrigue and keeps everyone busy digging for answers. A satisfying conclusion makes the third book in the series a 5-star read.
