I have to say Angel is my all time favorite book of all the Janie Crouch books I’ve read so far. Jordan’s story is one I have been waiting for since she was first mentioned in Cyclone. We get more snippets of her in Eagle and Shamrock, so to finally get her story I was ecstatic!
Jordan has endured a lot in her 24 years; her mother passes away when she was a child, her father cheated and stole money from many people and businesses in town and after a horrible tragedy she was sentenced to prison for 6 years, all before she was even 18 years of age. She has been out for the past 3 months and life has not been any easier for her. Because of what her father had done, she is seen as a pariah in the eyes of many of the townsfolk of Oak Creek and they don’t hide their disdain for her, but she refuses to move away. Even with the difficulties she is facing, she is home and she has a plan in motion that she is adamant about achieving.
Then we have Gabriel, former Navy Seal, and older brother of Violet, Jordan’s new boss. And as the overprotective older brother, Gabriel has some reservations of Jordan working for his sister and he lets her know it. But something about Jordan pulls at him and he can’t seem to stay away. As he gets to know her, he sees the strength and fortitude it took to carry on with everything she had faced and his feelings for her continued to grow. So when he personally sees all the bullying and hateful actions towards her, he is so angry on her behalf, he decides to take on the role of Jordan’s guardian angel and be the one to care for her and stand by her side.
I’ve mentioned in the first three books in this series that they were emotional, but Angel completely surpasses all of them. I shed many tears reading Jordan’s story. My heart broke for everything she had endured and reading how genuinely surprised she was by even the smallest gesture of kindness. And then to witness the gut wrenching scenes where trust becomes an issue for Gabriel, it was almost too much. But when the truth is revealed, he pulls out all the stops to be forgiven and do whatever that needs to be done to keep her safe from the danger that surrounds her.
This was an excellent book and I loved everything about it! I highly recommend!

Another emotionally charged love story that I could not put down! Lexi Johnson has endured a lot in the past 18 months. She just wanted a place to lay low and have a little bit of peace. She thought she may have a chance in Oak Creek, but before she even steps foot in the town bad luck follows her. She was desperate and had to resort to desperate measures and unfortunately when an opportunity came her way it had to be against uber protector, temporary sheriff, Gavin Zimmerman.
When they meet again, Gavin still felt that instant attraction to Lexi but now his suspicions of her are high and his actions towards her were not the greatest. But the more he watches her, the protector side of him emerges once again. And as difficult as it is for him, he does learn he needs to tamp down that side of him that wants to solve all her problems, even not knowing what or who she is hiding from. But danger is coming for her and Gavin and everyone in Oak Creek will do anything to keep one of their own safe.
Once again, we have an action packed, suspense filled love story. Many scenes had tears rolling down my face. Lexi has made mistakes and she has atoned for them but she still has so much guilt and will not allow herself the second chance she so deserves. The people from Oak Creek and Gavin especially show her how much she is loved. Another fantastic addition to one of my favorite series. A 5-star must read!

Nadine and Wyatt’s story was previously published in the Dangers and Desire anthology but we now get the extended version where we really get to see how they get to know each other better.
Scout is another fantastic installment of the Linear Tactical series! It is still packed full of drama, suspense and intense chemistry. We actually meet both Wyatt and Nadine together in Survival Instinct, book 3 in the Instinct series, so in this story there is already a connection made between the hero and heroine, but I feel like you will not be too lost. Some of the events that occurred in Survival Instinct has taken a toll on Nadine, she is now a recluse, hiding away in her home and leaving only to go to the market. Nadine and Wyatt have been communicating with each other online for the past year but have not gone any further than that. But it was during one of these outings that Wyatt came back into her life. Unfortunately, Wyatt is back under false pretenses, but he needs her help. What ensues is the edge of your seat, nail biting drama this author is so well known for. I absolutely adored Nadine in this book, she had gone through hell and even though she hid away in her home for the past year, when strength was needed she had it in spades. I was so impressed with her. Wyatt is definitely one of those uber alpha males, but it was Nadine who did the saving. Another great read!

I loved this book so much!! I devoured it within hours. The storyline, the history between the characters, the longing and the intense chemistry had me turning those pages. The connection between Nik and Danika is so strong that even being apart for 15 years did not diminish any of the intensity. Nik knew Danika since she was the frightened 8-year old following him around their poverty stricken neighborhood. And as they grew up they all started to protect each other. Then one day she disappeared. It is now the present day and they are now face to face and Danika is in Nik’s world and the dynamics have changed. Danika has a mission and she can not complete it without Nik’s assistance, but there is of course a price. Nik has not gotten to be where he is without collecting on favors with more than agreed upon. Nik stayed away from her for her own sake but now that she is in his realm, staying away is not something he can or will do.
Danika and Nik’s story grabbed me from the very beginning. I adored both of them so much individually. Seeing what Danika has been up to in the last 15 years is impressive. She is intelligent and strong and determined to right all the wrongs that were done to her and to those she loves. Nik is that possessive alpha male whose heart has all been Danika’s since they were teenagers and how he is finally able to claim her with any means necessary. I also loved how they were both so determined to always protect the other, in the past and in the present. And together they were fire, you can feel the intensity and longing with just a look. Once they are finally together, their scenes are combustible!
Besides the main characters, the secondary characters were just as fantastic. The rest of the Kings and Danika’s girls need to have their own story.
Dangerous King was an awesome 5-star read!

What a great start to a new series! Sterling (Star) is such a fascinating character, she is a female truck driver but also moonlights as a protector of young women. She had survived a horrible time in her young life and has made it her mission to not let that happen to anyone else. She had been stopping at the local bar and had caught the eye of the bartender, Cade McKenzie. But he too is not all that he seems. The two of them, along with Cade’s family, have a common mission. After a near miss, Star is convinced and willing to work together, but she is still protecting herself. I absolutely loved the way Cade approached Star, he saw the sadness and hurt in her eyes and he does not strong arm her or manipulate her at all. He allows her to make her decisions, but stays by her side.
I loved so many things about this book, we have a very strong and independent heroine, an alpha protector in the hero, the suspense that kept me on my toes, intense chemistry between Star and Cade, and the banter between her and his family was awesome. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Right from the very beginning my heart was already invested in Sallie’s story. My heart just broke for her when she realizes that Jacob does not remember her after three days of the most memorable nights of her life and then three years going by with her basically trying to stay away from him. Jacob has noticed her around after their “first” introduction 3 years before, there is something about her that he recognizes but could not quite grasp from where. Now they are in the same bar and Jacob decides he is done waiting around. The pull of Jacob was too strong for Sallie and is engaged in another explosive night.
As the story moves along, we learn so much more about Sallie. She is actually on the run and has been trying to keep a low profile. Jacob also has a story that explains why Sallie seems so familiar to him but can’t seem to remember. When all is revealed and danger surrounds Sallie, Jacob is determined to keep her safe and never letting her go.
There are so many twists and turns and secrets everywhere! Sallie and Jacob’s story definitely kept me on my toes. Like in many of Lora Leigh’s books the chemistry between the characters are off the charts, the steam factor is definitely high. I only had the problem with the ending, there is a HEA but I felt like it ended too abruptly.

Release!
I was a bit on the fence at first when I read the premise to this book. I wasn't too much of a fan about the whole fake fiance plot, but this one turned out to be so good! I loved Eva so much, she was so strong to go through so much, she is definitely a survivor. I think one of the main reasons I loved this book so much was because there wasn't a long wait for the secrets to come out. The waiting and agonizing reaction of the other person is always hard for me. In this one, the secrets are revealed quickly and the story moves on. And Trace, oh Trace, he was amazing as all of the heroes in J.S. Scott's books are. So protective and possessive and just plain a hero!
Player!
Sebastian, former player who was obsessed with partying, getting high and women has changed so much in the past few years, now he has been obsessed with work and no play until the hiring of Paige Rutledge, new junior attorney at Walker Enterprises. Something about Paige intrigued him and he just could not stay away from her. Unfortunately Paige has heard all about his reputation and she had too much history with his kind. But as they started to get to know each other, something strong developed between the two. Paige saw the new Sebastian and he was true. Sebastian always felt Paige was hiding something and when she finally felt safe enough to tell him the truth, Sebastian was all in and was not letting her go. Book 2 in the Walker Brothers series was definitely emotional, Paige’s history was horrific and almost too graphic in her memories, but to see her fight for justice and win was an amazing thing to see.
Damaged!
We get snippets of Dane, the third Walker brother, but we never really get to know him. We know he has become a recluse, hiding away in a remote island, and obviously in so much pain. He has physical scars, but it's the emotional scars that keeps him away from everyone. Both Trace and Sebastian have become more and more concerned with their younger brother so they decided to send him an assistant to maybe help him with his work and something more. We also briefly met Kenzie Jordan in Player! We know she is Paige’s former roommate and best friend and she too has scars from her past. When Paige meets the artist she has been fascinated with, things didn't go so well. Dane was never told about Kenzie and he was definitely not the nicest to her but ultimately gave in and allowed her to stay. He actually appreciated her spunk and he also saw something in her eyes that called to him. Kenzie really needed this job, she had only five dollars to her name and was facing homelessness. So she was grateful and willing to do anything to make Dane’s life easier. It was wonderful to see the two connect, they are kindred spirits, both suffering so much pain but eventually helping each other heal.

Dotted Lines was a wonderful end to an amazing series! I have been waiting for Karson’s story from the very beginning and it did not disappoint! What I loved most was that it was one of the Runaways that was his one. We learn that Clara and Karson had a special relationship during their years in the junkyard. Karson was the one to keep them all together, but he always felt that special something with Clara. Even when Londyn, Gemma and Kat left the junkyard after they turned 18, Karson stayed behind for Clara and Aria’s sake. He needed to make sure they were safe. It is now 12 years later since they had to part and it was Clara’s turn with the Cadillac and to reach the final destination, to Karson.
Timing has always been against them even to this day, but now even after over a decade apart they realize the connection is as strong as ever. It was so great to see the two finally find their way back to each other. The added bonus of the developing relationship between Karson and Autumn was the icing on the cake. A truly awesome conclusion.

Another winner from one of my favorite authors! I loved Remi and Brick’s story so much. Remi Ford is back in Mackinac Island with some secrets that she is desperately trying to hide and danger she is hiding from. Unfortunately for her the first person she sees has to be Brick Callan and he is the only one who will not allow her to keep secrets from. Brick also has secrets of his own, and that is his true feelings towards Remi. He tries to keep those walls up but once he saw the look of fear in her eyes, he knew he was not going to be able to stay away from her. His protective instinct towards her is as strong as ever. So with his intense feelings towards her and his need to keep her safe, Remi had no chance of keeping her distance from him. Like in many of this author’s books the banter and laugh out loud moments are in abundance. The two previous books we had the drunk hero, but in this one we witness Remi who is as drunk as a skunk. Her scenes of her over the shoulder of Brick and the butt bongos had me in tears with laughter throughout.
Brick and Remi’s love story was definitely on the slow burn side, and past relationships from both sides had me tilting my head a bit, but in true Lucy Score’s writing it all worked. The steam factor between these two is off the charts! I was pleasantly surprised. The danger and suspense kept me turning the pages. I absolutely loved it all and I highly recommend this book.

Ever since I read Taylor’s story in the previous book, Billionaire Undercover, and experienced the horror she had gone through with Harlow when they were kidnapped I knew I needed to read Harlow’s story. It is now several months later and while she is recovering physically, mentally she is definitely not any better. Jax Montgomery is only one of the few who finally realizes how severe Harlow’s PTSD is. When Harlow voices her wish to be a part of the secret rescue organization, Last Hope, she is told she is nowhere near ready and will be assigned a sponsor to help her. Jax immediately volunteered to be that person. They have a bit of history, two years prior he asked her to dinner but due to his reputation he was shot down. But Jax is determined and after winning a bet, their journey finally begins.
Jax definitely has a reputation, but what I loved was how Harlow was the one to see the man behind that reputation. She realizes what an amazing heart he has and they become great friends. They take the time to really get to know each other. Jax is just amazing with her, he is still extremely attracted to her but he is patient and is there for her all the way. But when friendship turns to love, their attraction to each other is both so sweet and scorching. It was all just fantastic.
Another great addition to this wonderful series.

Their story was definitely emotional, full of heart-stopping suspense, and so much love. After being rescued, Violet was ready to move on with her life. She realizes life is too short to not go after what she wants and one of the things she wants is Aiden. Unfortunately the first reaction from Aiden did not go so well, my heart broke for Violet, but with the help from her new friends and some Electric Smurfs things worked out for her. Because of Violet’s ordeal and the age difference, Aiden thought he was doing the right thing, but the pull of her was too strong. And when they are confronted with danger that they had thought was over, his stance of staying away dissolved quickly.
Like in all the other books I’ve read by Janie Crouch (even though I’m still a newbie), the resolution and downfall of the bad guys was gruesome and awesome. They are both definitely put through the wringer, physically and emotionally but they both pull through stronger together.
I loved this book so much, a highly recommended read. Now I can not wait for Jordan’s story.
