The Addendum by Melanie Moreland was a surprise for me since reading the Contract series and how Richard Van Ryan changed his ways when Kate came into his life and then added to their brood of children, Gracie, Heather, Penny, Gavin, and Matthew. How could Melanie find anything else to add? Melanie's devoted readers were like oh no, hell no. Richard was difficult to like to start with; she made him human and likable now what? An affair, yeah, her readers didn't like that idea. However, Melanie Moreland surprised me and made me fall deeper in love with Richard, only to wish my father was as wonderful as he turned out to be. Well, that's fiction for you! I couldn't put this book down once I started it.
The Amendment changes the contract in which Richard Van Ryan's unusual agreement with Katharine Elliott. At first, Richard has nothing but himself; then, he finds himself caring and loving Katy; together, they start a family. The Van Ryan's have two incredible girls, Gracie and Heather, and working with Graham is going very well. Richard gets promoted, earns awards for his work, and is now responsible Vice President. A tragic accident can destroy all his happiness, bringing back the nasty Richard. I love how Melanie Moreland connects the story with BAM, and it's all coming together.
Richard didn't think that he was capable of love. Katharine proved him wrong by showing him kindness, understanding, and unconditional love when life showed them the next step, a daughter they named Grace. What could be next for this loving family?
What a contract!

The Contract by Melanie Moreland is about Richard VanRyan and his unusual agreement with his personal assistant Katharine Elliott. Richard's reputation is that of a tyrant by day & playboy at night, but still a Dick no matter what time it is! Can a leopard change its spots? Can a man reinvent himself?
The Favor by Adele Griffin is an incredible slow-building story that will grab your heart after it hits the floor a few times.

Favor-noun- an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. Warm regard is shown toward another, especially by a superior.

Nora and Frankie work in a vintage clothing store, I'll Have Seconds, where Haute couture has a second or third chance at life.

Evelyn Elliot is a millionaire who loves fabulous couture and antiques; when she enters I'll Have Seconds and wipes out their inventory, she and Nora become fast friends over their shared love of Poet Frieda Bergessen. Nora has a way with discount dowagers and can find anything for the right price.

I think my favorite line is the unique way to describe someone. "He lived by the beach so long he feels like a human version of driftwood, lean and knotty, a little washed up."

The story starts slowly; there are so many players that Ms. Griffin takes her time introducing while setting up the plot and throwing some other side stories into the mix.
A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting is a purr-fect rom-com about a cat lover and a hockey lover. The characters are people you will fall in love with, and the story is laugh-out-loud funny.

"Cats are independent, not psychopaths."
"He looks like a shaved ball sack with eyes."
"And Canada geese, while cute, are aggressive. It's like Canada channeled all their meanness into that one animal!"
Amelia (Mila) Morrison, an author who writes under the pen name, AM Archer, is the youngest daughter of Liv and Van Morrison; Samantha and Reed are her older siblings. Mila doesn't remember much of her younger life with her biological mother except being locked in a closet and forgotten about. When Liv, the lovely lady, held her, she made her feel safe; the tall man with her, not so much, but they came back repeatedly until she left with them, and they became a family. Mila's book is being made into a movie, and she has chosen Nicholas Scott as the leading man.

Nicholas Scott, an actor labeled a troubled bad boy, is bipolar II and manipulated by his agent MJ who tips off the paparazzi on his whereabouts; everything with her is always negative attention. The
studio executives would rather he be known as an addict rather than for him to say that he suffers from a mental health issue and have him sign a non-disclosure agreement never openly discuss.

Nicholas and Mila's meet-cute is a comedy of errors, and the story discusses issues such as bullying, mental health, and other physical health issues. Melanie Moreland has a way of spinning a tale that will pull very emotion from her readers. I especially enjoyed the review of the whole BAM family.
