Dangerous Dance: Shandra Higheagle Mystery, Book 11
Paty Jager
I love that Shandra and Ryan are getting married at the reservation. I enjoy learning about Native American traditions and customs and I’m happy that their wedding is one of those shown in this series. The mystery is well plotted and kept me guessing who the murderer was and why.
Another great book in this series. This book addressed some hard topics that unfortunately happened in schools today. I love how Shandra is with the students in her pottery class especially the young man with Autism. It angered how some of the faculty and student treated him. It also angered me how a certain teacher got away with harassment just because who his family was. I am happy with the outcome of the mystery. I recommend to book to all mystery fans.
Stacie and her friend are shopping at the mall when they hear shots fired. Stacie sees that Santa’s elf has been shot. She goes to help the girl until the first responders arrive. They notice a couple of suspicious men on scene. Stacie and her friends get involved in the investigation and it seems they now have a target on their backs too.
This is the fifth book in the series but my first. I had no problems with understanding the characters and their relationships. This was an interesting story and pulled me in from the beginning. It is a short story but does not lack any components of a good mystery. There were plenty of suspects and twists and turns to keep me guessing. I will definitely read more of this series in the future.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator does a wonderful job with the characters and story telling. She has a pleasant voice that makes listening to the story enjoyable.

Kenni is attending a wedding that Cottonwood Who’s Who are in attendance.
While trying to enjoy the reception and avoid her mother making plans for Kenni and Finn’s wedding when they are not even engaged, Kenni notices the absence of the best man when it’s time for his speech. A storm blows in and the lights go out, so when the lightning lights up the sky Kenni’s eyes are drawn to the dead body just outside. Kenni has to find the murder before the wedding party leaves town.
It’s been a few years since the last Kenni Lowery book, so I was so excited to visit Cottonwood again. I wasn’t disappointed. Kenni is still a great Sheriff, her mom is still a strong Southern Momma, and her Grandpa’s ghost is still around to help Kenni solve murders. The mystery is full of surprises, I was completely surprised by who the murderer was and why. I recommend the book to anyone that loves southern mysteries.

I love losing myself in these books. This mystery was full of twists and turns. I couldn't figure out who was behind Kyra’s disappearance or why. This is a must for fans of the series and cozy mysteries.

The Secret, Book, and Scone Society members are back with another mystery to solve. This comes a little closer to home for one of the members. Hester gets engaged but her happiness seems short lived as she’s worried about telling her fiancé her secret she’s been keeping. Meanwhile Nora is feeling a little concerned about a series of events that have been turning up…a dead body of a stranger, books in her store vandalized, and a series of books that keep turning around town seemingly for Nora to find.
Author Ellery Adams has once again crafted a beautiful story about friendship, books, and of course mystery. The characters are each flawed in their own right but this makes them realistic, relatable, and interesting. The mystery is full of red herrings and suspense to keep glue to the book until the mystery is solved. The secondary story or stories are equally as well-written as it takes you on an emotional journey at times they don’t overwhelm the reader with too much going on. The storylines are seamlessly woven together to give the reader a wonderful escape into the town of Miracle Springs, NC and it’s residents.
