What a wonderful finale for Savage and Candace!

I love every crazy, over the top, obsessive thing about Rick Savage. Watching him prepare for his wedding to Candace was absolutely delicious. Especially when there is danger lurking at every turn. No one deals with the bad guys in quite the same way as he does.

Candace is his perfect counterpoint. She’s strong and brave enough to deal with everything that being a part of his life entails without losing who she is. Despite the drama and fear she was facing she was stalwart in her love for him and never shied away.

It was so sweet to finally see them get their happy ever after. This has definitely been the most satisfying storyline of not only Savage’s story, but of the Walker’s as a whole.
4.25 stars-SAVAGE ENDING is the fourth and final instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult SAVAGE erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on former Green Beret and Walker Security specialist Rick Savage, and architect Candace Marks. The SAVAGE trilogy is a spin-off from the author’s NAKED and Dirty Rich series with the appearance of several characters from the author’s Walker Security series. SAVAGE ENDING should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book three SAVAGE LOVE.

SOME BACKGROUND: Eight years earlier Rick Savage destroyed Candace Marks’ heart when he sent a ‘Dear Candace’ letter while on assignment overseas but what Candace never knew was that Rick Savage was recruited by a covert CIA black ops unit, a unit whose former members are now in prestigious and powerful places in the US government. When a debt is called in, Rick Savage must face the inevitable including the woman whose heart he destroyed.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rick and Candace ) SAVAGE ENDING focuses on the preparations for Rick and Candace’s upcoming wedding. One week before our couple say their “I dos” another debt is called in and Rick finds himself travelling across country to retrieve a package for a former friend and Green Beret. Meanwhile, Candace has secured a contract to design a new building but for our leading couple, the timing of both events doesn’t sit well. Along with Walker Security specialists Asher and Adam, Rick heads to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on his way to Colorado, as Candace works on final preparations for their upcoming wedding. Prepared for the worse, Rick, Asher and Adam face down an unknown enemy, while Candace continues to worry, that nothing is as it appears to be, including her latest design client.

SAVAGE ENDING nicely wraps up Candace and Rick’s happily ever after but getting there is a little more trouble than either one expected. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is spicy and hot; the characters are energetic and wonderful-Asher and Adam are feisty and fun. SAVAGE ENDING introduces another new character allowing the author many more directions for her series of romantic suspense.
Oh my gosh! This was one intense read!

Samantha was one gutsy heroine. I loved that she wasn’t so hardened and crude as some heroines in law enforcement are created to be. She was fierce enough to know she could get the job done, but never mean or rude to those around her. Her relationship with her partner and her ex shed a light on who she truly was inside and I liked everything about her.

This has a lot of drama to it. Once it starts there is no slowing down. It never bogs or gets repetitive. Instead, it’s like a snowball rolling down hill. When the plot hits a certain point, it picks up speed and there was no way I was closing this book until I knew how it all ended. My heart was racing and each time I reached one of those amazing LRJ twists, I was gasping and clutching at my Kindle.

This is not a romance, although there is a love interest involved. Only to the very smallest degree is their relationship brought into the mix. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of this couple if there are any future books. And I have to confess I was thrilled that this didn’t drop me off a cliff! I actually want another book although it’s not required!
