Born in Michigan in 1959, Michael Paul Hurd is the son of Paul S. Hurd and Carolyn J. (Freier) Hurd (both deceased). Married to his wife, Sandy, since 1980, they have two sons and three grandchildren. Sadly, their eldest son, Adam, passed away from cancer complications in 2010.
Hurd is a graduate of Hopkinton High School, Contoocook, NH, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
A veteran of the United States Air Force and retired Department of Defense civilian employee, Hurd's career spanned five decades. It was during this time that he developed a love for the written word and the deep research necessary to produce the "Lineage" series. It was during some in-depth genealogical research that numerous intersections of his family tree with historical events or people were discovered, forming the basis for the series.
Michael Paul Hurd is addicted to fishing, a slow-but-steady road bicyclist, and has hiked over 100 miles of the Appalachian Trail in four states. Currently residing in Maryland, the Hurds are both avid fans of the Disney Cruise Line.
